Dawn Smith, Managing Editor, has been a writer and editor for more than 10 years, with considerable experience in copywriting and the optimisation of translated copy. Before becoming Managing Editor of The Final Word, she worked for The Times, The Financial Times magazines, Marketing Week and a range of corporate and public sector clients. She edited several publications including the International Conference Planner, The Film Maker’s Guide, Focus Scotland, Investment International and more than 20 travel guides.
Lynda MacDermott, Head of Marketing, is a language specialist with a background in UK and pan-European marketing, market research and management. She has more than 15 years’ experience in her field, working in the UK and overseas. Before joining The Final Word she managed a multilingual team specialising in telemarketing. She has also edited the prestigious Linguaphone French web language learning service, Daily French.
Cheryl Taylor, Consultant Editor, English/French, began writing and editing more than 15 years ago and has worked for The Daily Telegraph, Live in France, The Financial Times, The Evening Standard, International Living and The Times.
Caroline van Etten, Senior Translation Editor, Dutch, is a bilingual Dutch/English editor who has worked extensively in both languages, mainly in the travel, marketing and e-commerce sectors. She is also fluent in French and Italian.
Sharon Taylor, Senior Translation Editor, German, is a highly qualified linguist, a member of the institute of linguists, with more than 10 years translation and editing experience at a senior level.
Lesley Hussenbux, Senior Translation Editor, Spanish, has more than 10 years experience as a translator, consultant and editor. She is also fluent in Portuguese and French.
