Your privacy is important to us. We try to be transparent and clear about the way we will process your data.

What data we collect, why and how we use it
We gather and process your personal data to fulfil our contract with you and to meet our legal obligations. This is our ‘lawful basis’ for processing your data.
In practice, this means that if you make an enquiry about our services or request a quote, we will save the information you give us (e.g. in an email or website enquiry form) on our secure system in order to communicate with you about your enquiry. If no contract is agreed with you, we will not store your data for more than one year.
If you offer us goods or services as a potential supplier, we may store the data you provide (e.g. your CV) on our database so that we can contact you if we have need of your services in future. This data may be stored indefinitely with your written agreement, or for up to one year in other cases, unless you instruct us to delete it.
If you enter into a contract with us by placing an order or accepting an order, we will store your personal data on our secure management and accounts systems so that we can properly process the contract and its related transactions, such as payments, tax returns and VAT. This data will be stored securely for a minimum of six years, before being destroyed in line with UK law, and may include:
Your first and last name
The name of your company and your role in the business
Your email address
Your telephone number
Your home address, if you are an individual, or your company address
Your VAT number if applicable
Information connected with the project
The texts to translate or proof and the final translations
Your bank account details if we need to make a payment to you
Your invoices, purchase orders and other financial documents
Any other data that we may be obliged to process to fulfil our contract with you or to meet our legal obligations.
Information you submit to us will only be used for the purposes intended. It will not be used for profiling or analysis.
The recipients of your data will be the employees and contracted personnel (project managers, writers, proof-readers and designers) working for The Final Word who need the information so that we can fulfil our contract with you.
We will not share your data with third parties unless this is necessary to carry out the contract or to meet our legal obligations (e.g. banks, tax authorities, accountancy companies etc), or if you have given us permission to do so (e.g. a reference or testimonial).
We will not share your data across country borders except to fulfil a contract with you or to meet our legal obligations (for example to make an international payment or to manage a project involving parties located in different countries).
We will not send you marketing messages by email or post without asking for your explicit consent first.
We do not use marketing cookies on our website.
We use Google Analytics to record how visitors use our website and to gauge the effectiveness of our AdWords advertisements. Information obtained in this way, including the IP address of your computer, is transferred to Google and subsequently stored by them on servers in the United States.
